Disaster Preparation

Earthquakes, floods, famine, pandemics, pestilence, persecution, terror and many other challenges are sweeping our world today. earthquake effects home Luke 21 speaks very clearly about the tribulation that is coming upon the earth. Luke 21:36 has always been an important scripture for our ministry as it encourages not to be distracted by the cares of this world but to "watch therefore and pray always."

We have strong conviction that prayer is the first response, and our ministry has majored on prayer. But, prayer is by no means the only response. Proverbs 22:3 says:

A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. NIV

With this in mind, Watchman Ministries International is doing our part to help equip the Church in our local area to prepare to serve our neighbors. If prepared, this should be the Church's finest hour.

Proverbs 27:10 Do not forsake your own friend or your father's friend, Nor go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity; Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away. NKJV

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. NKJV

Therefore, do not fear but prepare to be a good neighbor.

Map Your Neighborhood (MYN)

MYN is offered through the Washington State Military Department of Emergency Management Department. It empowers individuals to reach out on their block and equip their neighbors for disaster. They provide the handouts, a DVD, and a discussion guide that helps anyone host a meeting for their block. You will learn "9 Steps to Take Immediately Following a Disaster," identify the "Skills and Equipment" each neighbor has, create a "Neighborhood Map," create a contact list of those with special needs on your block and how to work together as a team to evaluate your neighborhood after a disaster and take action.

This is a perfect opportunity for the Church to serve their community.
